I'll be the first to admit, it can be confusing to come to a new roleplay site. New rules, new people, new characters. It can all be a little chaotic. To make things a bit more simple, here's an FAQ to help you out. If you have a question that's not here, feel free to post below!
What's a roleplay? Good question! Roleplay is basically writing a story with other people. Everyone has a character, and everyone can interact with other characters. For example, a thread might go something like this...
Person A: Thistlepaw padded out of the den and looked around camp. Today was her first day of training, and she was eager to get started. But where was her mentor? "Rushpelt!" she called, glancing around. Person B: Rushpelt was sitting to one side of the warrior's den, gulping down the remains of a crow. At the sound of her apprentice's voice, she jumped to her paws and hurried towards Thistlepaw. "Good morning!" she called cheerfully. "Ready to start training?" Person A: Thistlepaw's dark green eyes brightened when she saw Rushpelt approaching. She grinned, showing off a row of needle-sharp teeth. "I sure am! What are we doing today?"
...and so on. Other people can join your thread, or you can make it private with another player. You decide how the story goes!
Where can make a character? Right here. Make sure you copy the template for an application, which is here.
Can I have a high position? You can't just ask for a high position--you have to earn it first. Staff will choose high positions based on your activity and writing skill. If a position is open, and we think you deserve it, you'll get a PM asking if you're interested. If you are, a ceremony will be posted in character in which you're character will be appointed their new high position.
Can I be a staff member? Unfortunately, no. Again, you have to earn the spot. If we are short on staff members, a thread will be posted asking if anyone is interested. We will pick someone we trust, and someone who will stay active.
How do I get a mentor/apprentice? When a kit reaches the age to become an apprentice, post in the ceremony thread of that character's Clan. The leader will give a ceremony, and name another character as your character's mentor. If you are active, your character will get an active mentor. We try to match up mentors and apprentices according to activity and writing skill.
Can I choose my cat's warrior name? If you make an application and your character is already a warrior, by all means. However, if your character becomes a warrior in character, the leader will choose the name. If you are extremely unhappy with it, feel free to ask the leader for a name change or PM staff.
Can my cat have a litter? Of course! However, you must have a mate for your character. Forced mating isn't allowed, so the two characters must have agreed on it. To adopt out the kits, post a thread in the adoption centre with the number of kits, guidelines, and an application template. You get to decide who can roleplay the kits.
