The black bird was completely unaware of the danger it was in. It pecked away at a seed, perched on the thin branch of an oak tree. It ruffled its feathers, and looked up warily, beady black eyes glinting in the pale morning light. Deciding that the coast was clear, it returned to its eating. Without warning, a huge, black and white shape erupted from the bare branches of the tree. Claws and teeth flashed, and a heart beat later, the bird lay dead in the paws of a cat by the name of Blackfoot. The ShadowClan warrior lifted his catch between his jaws, proud of his kill.

. icefall . shadowclan . warrior . male .
below the claw-like branches of the trees, a silver-grey body slipped between the trunks. his black-striped tail curled around the bark, unwinding slowly as he moved on. his eyes, one blue, one green, were alert, scanning the area ahead of him. the sky above was thick grey, and on the horizon, the sun rose with a cold, yellow light. a sudden commotion above him caused icefall to look up, and with a glint of contempt in his eyes, he spotted his brother. the tabby stalked to the foot of the tree, and set his paws against it so he could get a better view. "well, if it isn't my dear brother, the bird-killer." he sneered, a grin of mischief spreading across his jaw.

"As if you haven't killed one yourself." Snowbird defended, her eyes in slits. She padded between her two brothers. Her white fur blended in with the fluffy snow. He paws, deep in the snow, made tacks. "Blackfoot hunted that bird wonderfully Icefall." She mewed sweetly, her eyes calm and sweet again. She tried not to be too harsh, but oh, how much she wanted to cuff her brother's ears.

Blackbird's positive thoughts immediately deflated as his brother approached. A snarl rose in his throat at Icefall's comment, and he might have snapped back, but then Snowbird approached them. For about ten seconds, she seemed frightening, but then she calmed down, and Blackfoot decided that he was pleased to see her. He scrambled down from the tree, nervous under the gaze of his judgemental brother. If he were alone, he could have scaled the tree with ease. Instead, he snapped almost half a dozen branches on the way down, and landed clumsily. He set down his prey, touched his nose to Snowbird's cheek, and nodded at Icefall. "Hey, guys." he mewed, then glanced warily behind them and flattened his ears. "Where's Shadeheart? He's not with you is he? I'm not up to handling more snarky comments." he gave Icefall a pointed look.

Snowsong purred, "Don't worry, he's not here at the moment." She smiled at her brother, and shot a look at Icefall. She laid down in the snow, actually enjoying the coldness. When she laid down, she was almost hidden because of her pelt being the clear white color it was. "'So..." She tried to make talk, "How's life?"
