A large, white warrior trotted his way into camp. His white pelt did not fit in with the scenery. He stuck out like a sore thumb in the forest of the Clans. The only difference in his pelt was the obvious - his black, raccoon-like face. He went by Raccoonmask, Warrior of RiverClan. His name is a bit obvious as well, given to him for his appearance. He had been busy fishing out in the river. The RiverClan warrior was lucky to bring back 3 decent sized fish. He tossed 2 down into the fresh-kill pile, and then sat by his lonesome self to eat the remaining fish. He looked around. Camp seemed a bit empty. Not much was going on, no cat was around to talk to. I don't want to have to eat this in silence Raccoonmask thought to himself. He liked having company. He wasn't a shy cat by any means. He was used to always having company, so it was easy for him to feel alone. He looked back down to his kill, and quickly took a massive bite out of it. He was starving. He usually was fed quite well, but lately he had been putting off his food for other cats. He was an amazing hunter, so food was not hard to come by for him. He would rather add to the pile than subtract from it. But, he couldn't help himself. He chowed down on the fish, and finished it almost to the bone. He heard a bit of rustling around him, and quickly looked up. He knew it wasn't an intruder. He could smell the scent, definitely RiverClan. He stood up and waited for the cat to show herself.

Lilystar padded through the reeds, 3 fish and a water vole in her mouth. It was a very pitiful catch for her, for she had been hunting since dawn. She blinked, her long graceful legs caring her to the fresh-kill pile. She turned her head from side to side, hoping to stay clear from her brother, Rainrunner. Instead, she spotted Racoonmask, about to eat. "Hello Racoonmask. How are you this fine day." Lilystar mewed, dipping her head in respect. She respected all her warriors, just like they would respect her. She picked up her water vole, padding over to Raccoonmask to share tongues with him.

When Raccoonmask saw his leader, he quickly stood and dipped his head. Respect was very important to him. At first, he was taken aback that Lilystar had dipped her head to him, when it should be the other way around. But, he didn't ask any questions. She was a she-cat and his leader. He should have felt honored and he did. He smiled, and let our a quiet purr "I'm doing well. How about yourself?". He noticed the fresh kill she brought in and his bright eyes went wide. She brought in more than me! he thought, a bit surprised. "Looks like you've had a good day of hunting, Lilystar." he meowed, nodding to the prey she had brought in. Raccoonmask did not speak to his leader often, until now. He was a bit excited, yet also nervous. First of all, she was his leader. Secondly, she was a she-cat - a beautiful one at that. He had not noticed it until now. He was generally not a shy cat, but around his leader is was hard to hide. He wouldn't want to say something to offend her, or make her angry. I mean after all, she was the leader of the mighty RiverClan.

Good, her warriors still had respect for leaders. She would make a mental note of that. She hasn't really made conversations with warriors, for she usually stuck near Nettleheart, the queens, and of course the kits. Warriors she rarely talked to, especially toms. She had always eeb wary of them, especially because of Rainrunner and his overprotectiveness. If that was even a word. "I've been doing good thank you, Raccoonmask." Lilystar remarked. Se searched through her memories, trying to see if she could recall his warrior ceramony. Was she the one who gave his name, or was that Stormstar, the previous leader? Well, whoever had given him that name pointed out the obvious. He was a healthy Tom, and was a wonderfull addition to the clan. Personally, Lilystar never cared for looks. She may be a pretty she-cat, but her fur was always ruffled from the sleepless night. "I guess I had a good hunt today. I've been hunting since dawn, and I'm not satisfied with my catch though." She explained. Her eyes gleamed with curiosity. Because of her lack of conversation with grown toms (kits are more easy to talk to), she didn't know what he would say next. What would Racoonmask say or do next?
Occ:// Would you mind posting him on the Riverclan list? ^~^

ooc: done!
Raccoonmask nodded respectfully. He was very curious, now. "That's an amazing catch," he meowed thoughtfully, "What's not to be satisfying about it?" he asked, curiously. He tried to keep his tone respectful, again, not wanting to offend his leader. Maybe she was not like that, it was just the vibe he got from all leaders. He thought deeply about her comment. That would be a perfect catch for any cat. Even Raccoonmask would be proud of it, so Lilystar should have. Well, Raccoonmask happened to be quite a confident cat, so it might have been a different situation. He was unsure, so he kept his maw shut after that. He quietly flicked his tail back and forth. He often did this when he was nervous or unsure of what to say. It was a bad habit, and any cat who got to know him enough would soon notice it. He did it so much that he began to forget when he was doing it. He remembered, and quickly stopped. His large eyes made their way back up to his leader and awaited a reply.

Occ:// Thanks! ^~^
Lilystar had expected more talking. Well, she wasn't old with toms in the first part. "I'm the leader and I have to set an example for my warriors to follow. A good leader means good warriors. A bad leader means bad warriors. That means I have to catch more prey, but all I've gotten was three fish and a water vole. Well, at lease Starclan gave me food to hunt." She explained. For some reason, Racconmask was easy to talk to. Easier than Nettleheart, the queens, and even the playful kits. "May I ask you a question?" Lilystar asked, her eyes curious at his response to the question. She had spotted him flack his tail, but dismissed it. She bent down and bit into her water vole.

The large white warrior understood where she was coming from. But, he didn't think it was as serious as she was making it. "Well.. You're a great leader, so that must make me a great warrior" he purred, with a little laugh. He nodded, and continued speaking "We can't always think like that. We will have good hunting days and bad hunting days. StarClan will not let us go starving, though" he added. He started to realize he was getting a bit carried away. He had a bit of a problem where he talked to much, and once he got started he wouldn't really stop. He caught the problem before it happened, and stopped speaking. That's when he heard Lilystar's meow..
"May I ask you a question?"
Quickly, he felt his heart drop. He began to get nervous. He stopped and thought for a bit. He was unsure of what to say. Obviously, he was going to answer yes. He could not reject his leader, he was just unsure of how to answer. His tail began to flick once again. His large eyes looked towards the ground. He had never experienced this feeling before, it was as if he was frozen. He slowly came back to reality. You haven't done anything wrong. She's probably just curious about your warrior duties or something he thought, reassuring himself. You have nothing to worry about he thought to himself. He realized Lilystar was waiting a reply, and he hadn't spoken in at least a minute. The conversation was just silent. He quickly nodded, and purred nervously, "Yes.. Of course. Anything!". He wondered how stupid he sounded. Mouse-brain! he cursed himself inside his head He wasn't sure if he sounded like an idiot or not, but he decided to keep his mouth shut for now and wait to hear the question he was so worried about.

"Well," She started to say, "I'm going to hold a ceremony for my siblings. They are apprentice's, but I did not have time to give them mentors. Would you mind mentoring one?" Her eyes pleaded for him to say yes. She had three apprentices to find mentors for and not many cats. She might have to mentor two of them. "If you wouldn't mind of course." She added quickly, her ear slightly lowered. She was afraid to be rejected, but she sat tall, wanting to show no weakness. He did it again. He started to flick his tail. Why? Was it something se said? Her tail started to slowly move side to side, sweeping the floor like a broom.

Raccoonmask nodded quickly. He had dreams of mentoring an apprentice, but he never thought he would actually be chosen. Even more importantly, it was the leaders sibling! He would have to give it his all. He believed he was ready, but was his leader sure? She obviously had to be if she had asked him. It would be a big duty for him, but he was ready. He nodded again and meowed "Yes.. I think I could -" but then he cut himself off and corrected himself "I would be honored to mentor one of your siblings. Which one would it be?" he asked curiously. He hoped she did not take his nervousness for disrespect. He was just having trouble getting out what he had to say again. After that he stopped talking again, not wanting to say too much. He was actually feeling pretty confident after that and was proud of himself for being a bit brave. He sat there curiously, staring at Lilystar awaiting her response.

She sighed in relief. Lilystar picked up her head, looking at him. "I was thinking my younger brother Stonepaw. He's a troublemaker, but I trust you to help him out." She mewed. Her whisker twitched. She wasn't sure if Stonepaw could be changed, but she trusted Racoonmask to teach Stonepaw what was right and what was wrong. Right? However, whatever she thought, she couldn't show Racoonmask her thoughts.

Raccoonmask nodded slowly.. "Troublemaker, eh?" he meowed, "I will work well with him.." he looked to Lilystar and smiled softly. He would treat this young cat like he was his own. He would teach him everything his mentor taught him, and hopefully by the end of training, have him shaped up quite nicely. "When will training begin?" he asked curiously. He was excited to get started. He had never mentored an apprentice before, but he was sure he would do a great job. He was confident in himself, and confident in Stonepaw as well. He had heard he was a bit of a troublemaker, but Raccoonmask thought he could easily shape him up. On the inside, Racoonmask was bristling with pride. He couldn't wait. He was glad Lilystar chose him for the job. He would not let her down. Actually, he couldn't let her down. She was the leader. And more importantly, Stonepaw was her brother. He would not allow himself to fail this young apprentice. Even though Racoonmask was just a lowly warrior, he wanted to prove himself to her. He knew he could be great. He just had to show it.

"The training starts as soon as I find a mentor for either Featherpaw or Acornpaw. I will host a ceremony and you will officially be his mentor." She purred, happy that Racconmask was eager. Now that she thought about it, he was a handsome tom, and a great warrior to the clan. She felt her face start to turn red, but quickly shook it off. For some weird reason, Racconmask was easy to talk to. She thought for sure she would have trouble talking to him, but she didn't.

The large white warrior purred quietly. He was quite happy. He looked to his leader with a smile "Alright" he said with a quick nod. He stopped and thought for a moment. He looked to the ground, then back to Lilystar. Then, he quickly meowed "I am excited to meet him.." he flicked his tail nervously and added "I won't let you down, Lilystar" and then with he sat back down to join his leader. He pawed at the dirt nervously, another sign he did when he was nervous. He hoped he could make her proud. He hoped he could make Stonepaw proud. He looked into Lilystars eyes, and seemed to get lost in them. He was almost in a dream-like state. He thought she was so attractive. He thought it was a bit weird that he had not noticed it before. Maybe he was just blinded by her being a leader. Did she have a mate? Raccoonmask quickly dismissed that thought from his head. There is no way she would like a cat like you! he scolded himself, shaking his head. He then realized he was daydreaming again, and looked away from Lilystar. He hoped she did not notice his childish daydreaming.

"I know you won't." Lilystar smiled happily, purring. She twitched her tail as she gazed at him. As she looked, she started to blush. Why was she blushing? It was just a Tom. But not just any Tom..... He was Racconmask. She avoided her gaze, mewing, "Uh, would you mind... Taking on two apprentices? We're on short supplies for warriors." She asked.

At first, Raccoonmask was a bit shocked. He did not know how to react, especially in the presence of a beautiful she-cat and his leader. As the shock began to settle in, he nodded slowly. He wasn't even sure if he could handle one apprentice, how could he ever handle two? Nervously, he nodded again and flicked his tail consistently. He began to stutter a bit, but tried his best to keep his composure "Y-yes.." he meowed nervously, "I can do it." he reassured her, swallowing hard on the words he wished to say. The truth was, he wasn't sure. But he couldn't say no to her nor could he say no to the apprentices. They needed training, and his Clan was calling on him. He would not let the Clan down, better yet, he could not let the Clan down. He nodded again, and watched Lilystar with wide eyes "Who will the other apprentice be?" he croaked, as if he could not get the words out of his mouth. He began to calm down. He breathed slowly and tried to shake the thoughts from his head. He would try his best no matter what, and he would not fail these young cats. The Clan depended on it.
