Name: Nettleheart
Gender: Female
Age: 42 moons
Alliance: RiverClan
Rank: Medicine Cat
Appearance: You wouldn't call her scrawny, nor is she particularly well-fed. Nettleheart has one of those lithe, agile builds, like she can slip easily through a tangle of bracken or into a tiny cave. She's built for running, with the main part of her muscle packed around her shoulders and legs. She has little weight, and she can practically fly through the forest at top-speed. A layer of the lightest brown covers her pelt, turning white at the tips of her ears. Darker brown splashes across her face, feet, and tail. The tip of her tail is ringed with dull white, and an almost-invisible strip of black surrounds her eyes. Nettleheart's eyes are extremely emotional. She can portray her feelings when she wants, or hide them behind a sheet of ice. The two circles are shaded pale blue. Sometimes they seem soft and understanding, at other times, cold-hearted and stiff. She chooses what she wants others to see.
Personality: Nettleheart is hard to figure out. She can seem friendly at times, or short-tempered at others. She's a little insane, some say, and switches between emotions as easily as she talks. She has a slight personality disorder, switching from cheerful and warm to angry and upset. She tends to be caring around those she loves, and cold-hearted around strangers and enemies. She doesn't socialize much, and generally cats have to start a conversation before she joins in. Despite being a Medicine Cat, she enjoys coming along on hunting parties and border patrols. She says the excursive is good for her legs, but usually she just wants to get away from the chaos of camp life. Although Nettleheart has built a thick, stone wall around herself, she is extremely vulnerable inside. She's like a china doll inside a steel case. She might be breaking inside, and you wouldn't have a clue. The smallest things can upset her. Either she will break down, or get angry and take it out on an unsuspecting someone. All in all, Nettleheart is a tough cat to pick apart.
History: Nettleheart was born and raised in RiverClan. Her father went by the name Dustclaw, her mother, Breezefoot. She spent the first three days of her kithood in a hollow tree, next to the river outside of camp. Breezefoot wanted to have those days alone with her mate and kits, and she got her wish. Two males were born along with Nettleheart: Brackenkit and Thornkit. They were all strong, healthy kits, almost guaranteed survival. Most of their kithood they spent playing around in the nursery, like normal kits do. Nettleheart was the quietest of the bunch, often watching her brothers as they fought or dared each other to climb the nursery walls. She took a particular interest in art, often draw pictures in the sand or sticking things together with tree sap. Hardships came after their apprentice ceremony. Nettlehear was given a mentor by the name of Frostclaw--the RiverClan deputy. He taught her well, and she soon learned to fend for herself. She could hunt and fight like the rest of her Clanmates, and best her brothers at their games. But that's where the happy moments ended. RiverClan went into battle against BloodClan, and the casualties were heartbreaking. Both the kit's parents were lost, killed by BloodClan warriors. Nettleheart went into a phase of depression after that. Although she and her brothers received their warrior names after the battle, it did nothing to lift her spirits. Winter came, and Greencough ravaged the Clan. Frostclaw was lost, as was her brother, Brackentail. Nettleheart barely noticed. She kept to herself, despite Thorntooth, her only living brother, telling her to come out of the camp. He tried to make her eat and exercise, but she refused. He got angry at her, and the two fought. Unable to bare the creature his sister had become, Thorntooth left for BloodClan and never returned. Nettleheart's anger brought her to life. She ate, slept, and fought like a normal cat. She wasn't the same cat she once was, and some even preferred the statue-Nettleheart to this new hot-tempered one, but she didn't care. Greencough came again, and took many lives. Nettleheart helped out in the Medicine Den, tending to sick cats. It was a miracle she didn't catch it herself. When the illness took the Medicine Cat, RiverClan's leader appointed Nettleheart as the new one. He believed she was the only one who had the experience and knowledge, thanks to the short month or so she'd helped out.
